Increasingly, companies all over the world are recognizing the value that project management can provide to their performance. Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification has become the most recognized credential for the practice of the rapidly evolving profession of project management. This four-day PMBOK® Guide-aligned course prepares you for Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification examination and raises your project management skills to a “more advanced” level of performance.

Prerequisites

  • Participants should be eligible to sit for the PMP® certification examination

  • Participants should review “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK® Guide-2000 Edition” from the Project Management Institute.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize both the content and format of examination questions

  • Identify weak areas that require more individual study

Who Should Attend

  • Mid-career professionals who seek to further develop their project management skills

Course Outline

This course provides an overview of project management and covers the nine knowledge areas identified in the PMBOK® Guide:

  • Project Integration Management

  • Project Scope Management

  • Project Time Management

  • Project Cost Management

  • Project Quality Management

  • Project Human Resource Management

  • Project Communications Management

  • Project Procurement Management

During the session, attendees use an electronic “Test Bank” that exactly mimics the PMP ® Examination.  Attendees can evaluate their overall scores and identify any weaknesses in the nine PMBOK® Guide knowledge areas. In addition, an online review session is offered approximately two weeks after course completion. The online review session offers students the opportunity to clarify course material and to “refresh” on course content. This can be particularly useful prior to taking the PMP® Certification examination.

The instruction approach includes lecture, case studies and class exercises.  Extensive use of case studies and in-class exercises provide for active student involvement in practical use of course content.
